Water Bottles
Choosing a water bottle seems like an easy thing, but finding one that you’ll reach for everyday can be a challenge. Here’s what we look for in a water bottle:
Consider what type of consumer you are. Do you drink mostly iced beverages, hot, or do you like a mix of both hot and cold? Do you want to carry around all 64oz with you at one time (getting your workout in), or are you ok taking time to refill? For many, a 20 - 35 oz water bottle fits the bill.
Cleaning water bottles can be a chore. With parts that slide, pinch, and twist, along with straws or ports, mold can be a huge issue. Most cups that have straws come with pipe cleaners (great as long as you don’t lose it). Looks for dishwasher safe options, or bottles with fewer pieces to cut down on cleaning time and complexity.
There is a wide variety when it comes to pricing on water bottles, and a higher price doesn’t always mean a better pick. Stainless steel bottles will typically run more expensive, with plastic being a cheaper option. Investing in a high quality water bottle may cost more, but will provide you with a product that lasts longer.
The truth of the matter is that water bottles take a beating; they fall out of the car, get dumped in the sink, and have to survive travel. You want to avoid bottles that will crack, leak, or break, especially if given to children.
